How does the age of a Mississauga home change the clean?
Mississauga became a city in 1974 by taking in Port Credit, Streetsville and the villages and farmland between them. Tell us your neighbourhood when you ask for a quote and the number starts closer to right.
| Built | Where you find them | What it means for the clean |
|---|---|---|
| Settled 1819 | Meadowvale Village, along Second Line West and Old Derry Road | Modest wood houses, many of plank-on-plank construction, rarely over two storeys. Wood floors and trim take hand work and little water. |
| A village from 1858 | Streetsville, around Queen Street | Red brick from a local clay pit. Timothy Street's house, built in 1825, is one of the oldest brick houses in Peel. |
| Laid out in 1835 | Old Port Credit, south of Lakeshore Road West | Mostly one-and-a-half-storey houses in siding or brick, first owned by boat captains and tradespeople. Smaller rooms, older trim, more corners. |
| Planned in the 1970s | Meadowvale, Erin Mills | Subdivisions of family homes. Bathroom count and a finished basement set the time more than the age does, so tell us both. |
| Condo towers | City Centre, around Square One | Book the service elevator for a move clean and tell us how the crew gets in: concierge, fob or lockbox. |
Heritage district details from Canada's Historic Places (Old Port Credit, Meadowvale Village). Streetsville history from Streetsville, Mississauga. Meadowvale and Erin Mills from Heritage Mississauga.
Do you clean heritage homes in Port Credit, Streetsville and Meadowvale Village?
Yes. Two of Mississauga's heritage conservation districts are mostly houses. Meadowvale Village, settled in 1819 by Irish families, became Ontario's first heritage conservation district in 1980. Many of its houses are modest plank-on-plank wood buildings, rarely over two storeys. Old Port Credit followed in 2004. Its streets keep the village plan the government laid out in 1835 beside the harbour.
Streetsville was a village from 1858 and a town from 1962. A red clay quarry west of the village is why so much of it is brick.
Old wood floors, plaster and painted trim need more hand work and less water. If a floor has been refinished, or a surface should stay untouched, tell us when you book. A first deep clean from $249 covers baseboards, door frames and grout, and recurring visits from $129 keep it there.
Do you clean family homes in Meadowvale and Erin Mills?
Yes. Planner Macklin Hancock designed both as new towns in the 1970s. Meadowvale went up on farmland west of the old village, around two largely man-made lakes, Aquitaine and Wabukayne, and its town centre opened in 1978.
In a family home, the number of bathrooms sets the time more than the square footage does. A residential clean from $149 covers the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and floors. Count a finished basement as another floor when you ask for a quote.
Can you clean a condo near Square One?
Yes. Square One opened in 1973 and the city centre grew up around it, first with towers set back in open lots, now with towers like the 56-storey Absolute World.
Tell us how the crew gets in and where to park. On a move day, book the service elevator for the cleaning slot as well. Move-in and move-out cleaning starts at $279 and covers the inside of every cabinet, closet and drawer. In a brand-new unit, post-construction cleanup removes the fine dust from vents, tracks and fixtures and is priced by custom quote.
Is Mississauga tap water hard?
Moderately. Mississauga drinks Lake Ontario water, drawn from intakes up to two kilometres offshore and treated at Peel Region's Arthur P. Kennedy and Lorne Park plants. Peel's 2025 water quality report puts hardness at 120 to 130 mg/L, or 7.0 to 7.6 grains per gallon.
That is a little softer than Oakville and far softer than well-supplied Milton. White spots still build on shower glass and taps between visits. Every residential clean polishes mirrors and fixtures, and a deep clean scrubs grout and tile.
Do you clean the rest of Peel and Halton?
Yes. We have crews in Brampton, Oakville, Milton and Toronto. Our office is in Guelph. Offices, clinics and shops in Mississauga can ask for a commercial cleaning quote. The full list of service areas covers all 20 cities.
